Crusaders Get Close, Lose To UG

UNION GROVE - Cory Atkinson and Cody Jones rushed for a combined 150 yards and four touchdowns, and Union Grove controlled the fourth quarter to beat T.K. Gorman, 38-27, Friday night.

The Crusaders (0-3) pulled within 22-20 in the fourth when Kevin Navetta scored on a 77-yard run. The try for two was no good.

Union Grove (1-2) countered with Atkinson's 17-yard touchdown and two-point conversion to make it 30-20.

Later, Atkinson hit paydirt from 25 yards out and Josh Carnes ran for the two-point conversion to up Union Grove's lead to 38-20.
